Bphemelele Children's Home

Cape Town

The vision of Baphumelele is to provide a temporary shelter for vulnerable/orphaned children and young adults with chronic diseases and HIV/Aids, and to provide skills development for the unemployed, early childhood care, alleviation of poverty, and healthcare information to the community in Khayelitsha and surroundings, so that the lives of everyone we touch can become more productive and accepted individuals who make a difference within society. Legacy Pride donated 43,666 meals to Bphemelele Children's Home during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Goedgedacht

Cape Town

The Goedgedacht Trust was initiated to assist in the transformation of impoverished rural communities in the West Coast region of the Western Cape and have since adapted its support models to help as many families as possible to implement sustainable strategies that will bring long term relief to those in need. Legacy Pride donated 27,777 meals to Goedgedacht during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ikaneng

Gauteng

Ikageng believe the provision of effective education and health care services are the most powerful means of alleviating poverty in South Africa. Working together with the Departments of Education, Social Development and Health, as well as local authorities, they have rolled out a number of programmes and interventions at personal, family, community and civic levels. Legacy Pride donated 3,317 meals to Ikageng during the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Beginningz

Gauteng

New Beginningz has been in operation since 2001, with the main focus being Children living and working on the streets. Catering for children between the ages of newborn up to 18 years. Significant emphasis is placed on rendering services and programs that is in the best interest of every individual child that they deal with. Legacy Pride donated 2,040 meals to New Beginningz during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust

North West

Due to Legacy’s assistance and referral, the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust jumped on board and also purchased 1,500 Nutriwell boxes, which was donated to areas around the Pilanesberg. This equates to approximately 208,000 meals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SizaBantwana

Mpumalanga

SizaBantwana operates in the Bushbuckridge and Hazyview district, of the Mpumalanga Province, among vulnerable and orphaned children. These children live in the homes of relatives or caring neighbours who are supported by the SizaBantwana volunteers. After school, the children are served a meal at a SizaBantwana care centre, prepared by caring and trained volunteers. The children play outside under the trees and sit mostly on the ground when eating – probably the only meal that many of the children will receive for the whole day. Legacy Pride donated 49,375 meals to SizaBantwana during the COVID-19 pandemic.
